As Hurricane Florence makes its way toward the East Coast, CAM team members are ready to take action as soon as possible after the storm. Florence has downgraded to a category 2 storm, but is still serious and could bring catastrophic flooding in the days to come. The hurricane could bring as much as 30 inches of rain as it settles in after making landfall.

Here are three ways that CAM is preparing for the arrival of Hurricane Florence.

1. Search & Rescue

Ohio Search & Rescue

A Search & Rescue team from Ohio travels to Fayetteville, NC, to help in the aftermath of Hurricane Florence.

Our Search & Rescue teams with boats are setting up in Fayetteville, North Carolina and Sumter, South Carolina, prepared to rescue survivors following the storm. The teams rescued hundreds of people following Hurricane Harvey last year. They are prepared to do the same for Hurricane Florence survivors as the need arises.

2. Loaves & Fishes food kitchen

CAM’s Loaves & Fishes food kitchen is heading toward Lumberton, North Carolina, and will be arriving later today. They are prepared to provide hot meals for survivors.

3. Rapid Response cleanup teams

Our Rapid Response cleanup teams are on standby and prepared to begin cleanup as soon as the storm subsides.

Keep praying for those in the storm’s path. God is in control and we commit the next hours and days to Him.
